Defensive driving is far more than buckling your seatbelt and driving at the posted speed limit. Our Drive for Life program is designed to teach you better seeing habits while driving, and how to effectively maintain the space around your vehicle. You will find that most collisions can be avoided once you are trained to see potential problems in advance, before they require last-second reactions.
In order to do this, you must be able to answer five questions continuously. They are:
The classroom portion of the program includes comprehensive instruction on the following essential road safety and driving topics:
Insurance
Handling Emergencies
Adverse conditions
Driver impairment
Freeway driving
Throughout the program, you’ll learn to consistently ask yourself the following five critical questions to stay alert and safe on the road:
1. Where is my immediate future?
2. What is behind me?
3. What is my nearest concern?
4. How is my space cushion?
5. Can they see me?
In addition to classroom theory, the program includes ten hours of private, in-car instruction, delivered in five two-hour sessions. These lessons are scheduled based on your availability to ensure a flexible learning experience.
Upon successful completion of the full program, you will receive a government-issued course completion certificate, which qualifies you for an insurance discount.
