Drive for Life – Our Defensive Driving Program in Chestermere and Strathmore
Signal Driving School offers a defensive driving program in Chestermere and Strathmore.
Defensive driving is far more than buckling your seatbelt and driving at the posted speed limit. Our Drive for Life program is designed to teach you better seeing habits while driving, and how to effectively maintain the space around your vehicle. You will find that most collisions can be avoided once you are trained to see potential problems in advance, before they require last-second reactions.
In order to do this, you must be able to answer five questions continuously. They are:
- Where is my immediate future?
- What is behind me?
- What is my nearest concern?
- How is my space cushion?
- Can they see me?
Other topics covered in the theory portion of the program will include:
- Insurance
- Handling Emergencies
- City driving (relevant to any major city’s downtown core)
- Adverse conditions
- Driver impairment
- Rules and regulations
- Freeway driving
- Any other topics relevant to driving
In addition to classroom theory, we offer ten hours of private, in-car lessons conducted as five two-hour sessions. These sessions will be scheduled around your availability. After successful completion of the full program, a government course completion certificate will be issued to you, qualifying you for an insurance discount.
